What is a Track?

A track is a detailed view of a route on a map. The points that make up the route are just a series of locations. Each location has only three attributes - latitude, longitude and, optionally, elevation. Visually, you only see a line on a map. There are no locations to click, no location detail or date/time information to see. For instance, below is a track of my 2008 travels.

Tracks can be used to not only show where you've been, but also where you intend to go. Tracks can be overlayed onto trips or shown individually.
